"Oh, Stephen Moyer came to play in the Battle of the Fang, a showdown in which fans of his Bill Compton and Alexander Skarsgard’s Eric Northman are competing to see who can raise the most money for charities of the actors’ choice. Moyer’s added his “sock of destiny,” what the cast has dubbed the modesty piece some actors wear while filming their True Blood nude scenes, to the mix. There’d been 82 bids at pub time, and the sock, which has been signed by Moyer and his wife/costar Anna Paquin, was at $535.00. (“Stephen did not say whether the sock had been used or not… we’re not asking,” the eBay description notes.) I love Moyer for this, and expect his sense of humor to be rewarded. The sock has got to go for as least as much as the signed Season 3 finale script he also donated (which was at $900 following 44 bids at pub time). The eBay auctions end Sept. 4. The true Battle of the Fang, which started June 13 and continues through the show’s Sept. 12 season finale, involves fans making donations to either Moyer’s chosen charity, GulfAid, or Skarsgard’s, SOS Children’s Villages. Whichever actor’s fans donate more money wins. They’ve each agreed to be photographed wearing a T-shirt designed by the winner and his team. Those T-shirts will then be awarded to one randomly-selected fan from each team. (For every $5 you donate, your name gets entered again.)
If you’re Team Eric, head here for more information. If you’re Team Bill, you’ll want to click here. As of August 27, the teams had collectively raised more than $30,000."
