"There is nothing you can say to us that will make us feel ashamed of our inextinguishable love for the HBO series True Blood. Nothing. Not a thing. Because unlike other vampire-focused television series, this one’s proving it has serious high-end fashion potential. (It’s also just a really good show, but that’s another post for another day.) Hammitt, a Los Angeles-based handbag company, has teamed up with the geniuses in HBO’s marketing department on a line of bags inspired by the show’s characters. At the bottom of the price range for this collection is the $395 Sookie, which WWDreports is made of pleated dove gray suede, and at the top is the “more flamboyant” $675 Lafayette, a metallic leather doctor bag stamped with an alligator skin pattern and covered in studs.
And while there’s no mention of a Bill handbag (and really, what would that look like?), there are ones named after Eric and Alcide. (The Eric is pictured above.):
While the evening-sized, black leather $445 “Eric” is perhaps the most wearable design with its shoulder strap and bullet-shaped studs (since Eric Northman’s known to have “taken bullets” for Sookie) — the most true-to-character bag is probably the $485 “Alcide.” The gray shoulder bag is based on the show’s resident good guy werewolf, which is conveyed via its fake fur flap and a life-size, screen-printed wolf image on the inside lining.
Yeah. We’d advise you to start saving now — and to start looking for places where Hammitt is carried. Most of its clients are smaller boutiques, so you might have to search a bit if you want to find one of these bags. They’ll be in stores around the beginning of the fourth season. And at this point, we don’t know which launch we’re more excited about."
