MTV has broken news that the world Charlaine Harris has brought to life will be taken into the word of Comic books!
And well, anything True Blood and Harris related is always good news! "TRUE BLOOD AUTHOR, CHARLAINE HARRIS, BRINGS NEW SERIES TO DYNAMITE! Harper Connelly series to be featured in new comic series by Dynamite Entertainment Acclaimed author Charlaine Harris, the writer of the Sookie Stackhouse series, is joining the Dynamite Entertainment family in 2010! We are proud to announce that the first book of her hit Harper Connelly series, Grave Sight, will be adapted by Dynamite Entertainment in 2010! Her Sookie Stackhouse novels became the basis for one of today's most successful television shows, the hit HBO series True Blood! Dynamite is extremely proud to present Charlaine Harris' first comic adaptation! For the past five years, readers have been thrilled by the Harper Connelly series. Featuring Harper Connelly, a woman who has what you might call a strange job: she finds dead people. She can sense the final location of a person who's passed, and share their very last moment. The way Harper sees it, she's providing a service to the dead while bringing some closure to the living-but she's used to most people treating her like a blood-sucking leech. Traveling with her step-brother Tolliver as manager and sometime-bodyguard, she's become an expert at getting in, getting paid, and getting out fast. Because for the living it's always urgent-even if the dead can wait forever. "I'm thrilled to join such great writers," says Charlaine Harris. "I'm excited about seeing a different vision of my novels, and I've seen enough of the Dynamite Entertainment to know this will be an interesting and entertaining process." "Charlaine has thrilled millions of readers with her novels, and millions more with the adaptation of her Sookie Stackhouse series as the TV Show known as True Blood. We at Dynamite are honored to be the first comics publisher to be granted the right to adapt her novels in to the first ever comics adaptation. And Charlaine's kind words on our comics and confidence in our ability to execute will be rewarded with Dynamite's placing the best talent available on these adaptations!" Stated Dynamite President and Publisher Nick Barrucci." SOURCE Ausiello Ew has scooped that actress Brit Morgan will be playing the role of Alcide's crazy ex-girlfriend, Debbie Pelt!
"True Blood has found its next bat-bleep-crazy villainess. After an exhaustive and months-long search, sources confirm that actress Brit Morgan — best known from ABC Family’s short-lived drama The Middleman — has scored the pivotal role of Debbie Pelt, the psycho ex girlfriend of werewolf Alcide (Joe Manganiello). Last month, exec producer Alan Ball told me that the juicy part — already a major component of the show’s upcoming third season — was being beefed up. “She’s going to be in more episodes,” he said, “so maybe that will have an impact on [what actress] we can get for her, which is a big question right now.” With that question now answered, all of Season 3’s major roles have been cast. Do you think Morgan’s right for the part? Surprised Ball didn’t go with a bigger name (and word is there were a couple in the running)? Sound off below!" SOURCE Seattlepi.com is now reporting that Dawn Olivieri has been cast as Alcide's sister in this season of True Blood
"Olivieri will play Janice Herveaux, the sister of werewolf Alcide (Joe Manganiello), the actress' rep confirms to TVGuide.com. Herveaux is described as a tough-as-nails biker chick who's somewhat protective of her younger brother. She is also into horoscopes and psychics. Olivieri will first appear in Season 3's fourth episode, "9 Crimes." She also auditioned for the role of Debbie Pelt, Alcide's ex-girlfriend. Casting for that role has yet to be announced. True Blood casts Joe Manganiello as Alcide Olivieri just wrapped up a recurring role on Heroes' fourth season as Lydia, a tattooed empath and member of evil carnival leader Samuel's "family." Her previous credits include My Boys, Entourage, How I Met Your Mother and Cold Case." SOURCE |
