Ew has let us know, that casting for the werewolf we all love from Charlaine Harri's beloved books have begun!
All we'll say is, dont mess this up Mr.Ball ;) True Blood’s wolf hunt has officially begun! Although Alan Ball confirmed to me over the summer that werewolf Alcide would take a big bite out of the drama’s upcoming third season, the search for an actor to play the pivotal part formally got underway today with the release of the following casting notice: ALCIDE: Good-looking, rough-around-the-edges, articulate, heroic, and decent, but not what he seems. He gets along well with Sookie. There’s even an attraction between the two. Very strong recurring. True Blood is also searching for a fortysomething African-American actor to play HOLLIS, a bouncer in a bar. Despite his scary appearance — he resembles an NFL lineman — he’s a nice guy who knows Alcide well. He’s suspicious of Sookie and delivers some unexpected bad news to Alcide about his fiancée, Debbie Pelt. Finally, Alan Ball is on the lookout for an actor in his 70s to play Arlene’s old-school (spoiler alert) obstetrician. Production on True Blood’s third season got underway last week, hence all the casting activity of late. I compiled a convenient link round-up below if you missed any of it. I’m generous like that. SOURCE Examiner.com caught up with one of the leading vampires of Shreveport at the In Style Golden Globes Party.
"True Blood hunk Alexander Skarsgard looks boyishly handsome Dec. 8 at InStyle magazine’s special Golden Globes party in L.A. Skarsgård, 33, is set to begin filming the highly anticipated third season of True Blood later this month. When asked to describe his on-screen alter ego Eric Northman, Alexander says the bad-boy vampire is like a majestic lion. "Someone as powerful and experienced as [Eric] doesn't need to show what he is," Skarsgård tells French magazine Générique. "He only has to whisper, and people listen and obey." Alexander adds: "I was inspired by a tv documentary on lions that I saw. The way the male moves--confident, graceful, calm and quietly menacing. Make a wrong move and you're dead. In his heart, Eric is a lion, an animal." Of course, Skarsgård's striking 6'4" physical persona adds to his character's mystique and sex appeal. But Alexander says Eric has a soft, sentimental side as well. "[Eric] has a sensitive side, is passionate, and can be a valuable friend," explains Alexander. "He does not like many people, but those he loves, he is very dedicated to." Skarsgård, who has been voted the Sexiest Man in Sweden for the past five years, is the son of Swedish star Stellan Skarsgård, 58 (Angels & Demons, Ronin, Good Will Hunting). The Stockholm-born Alexander became an international sex symbol after being cast as the brooding Eric in True Blood in 2008. The first season of the hit series received widespread critical acclaim and won several awards, including a Golden Globe and an Emmy. The naturally lanky Alexander, who has complained of being "too skinny," stays fit by lifting weights and running. Skarsgard recently revealed that there will be a lot of nudity and sex in the upcoming season of his hit HBO series. “I’m extremely excited to get naked!" he said. We're sure his fans share his enthusiasm. The third season of True Blood begins shooting in L.A. later this month SOURCE. The Hollywood Reporter is at it again! They've learned that Eric's delicious sidekick Pam will be getting more storyline time in Season 3!
"Eric's sidekick Pam on "True Blood" is getting a promotion. Kristin Bauer, who plays blonde vampire Pam, Eric's (Alexander Skarsgard) wingwoman at vampire bar Fangtasia, has been promoted to a regular on the HBO series. Bauer had guest starred on Alan Ball's vampire drama for the first two seasons, appearing in a total of 11 episodes. Ball recently hinted that may have a meaty story line in store for Pam for Season 3 when she may get into a lesbian relationship. Bauer, who most recently co-starred on the CBS drama pilot "House Rules," is repped by the Paul Kohner Agency and Kritzer/Levine/Wilkins/Griffin. It's a busy casting time at "True Blood," which started production on its third season last week. Denis O'Hare and Marshall Allman have been tapped as new regulars, and Theo Alexander and Grant Bowler as recurring, with a slew of other roles yet to be cast. The Examiner talked to the True Blood recently and he talked about how he chooses to avoid fan sites related to True Blood! Awwww c'mon Alex! We dont care about your dating life, we just love the show!
For True Blood fans, some can't get enough of hot Alexander Skarsgard but for Alex it's all about laying off the media hype. "I try to avoid blogs, or websites related to the show," the 33-year-old actor told France's mag Toute la Tele this week. As an actor, I don’t think it’s good to read everything that is written about True Blood. If you read a lot of positive things on the show, it would probably be bad for my ego," he told the mag while laughing. Adding, "And negative criticism would get my attention but I would start doubting myself.” The 6-foot-4 Swedish hottie has revealed he'll be lots of nude in the first episode of Season Three and thinks he has his sex appeal figured out. "I think the age of Eric, all the things he's seen in his years, make him attractive," Eric told the French press. "As well as confidence and the ability to kill in one second!" he added. See Alexander Skarsgard's VIDEO interview here! Or killer muscles. Either way, Skarsgard finds his figure to be of the norm saying on one of his fan sites, "Sometimes you like the way you look and sometimes you don’t." Alex says he stays vampire sexy by not smoking and keeping up with his body with five-days-a-week workouts. Skarsgard alternates between weight and resistance training and treadmill cardio to stay lean and maintain muscle mass. In related news, Skarsgards rumored flame and True Blood co-star Evan Rachel Wood has hooked back up with her ex, Marilyn Manson. While Skarsgard has avoided commentary he has said of his co-star in a past interivew, "Evan is amazing. She’s the sweetest girl and a fantastic actress. It’s fun - it’s going to be a great season." SOURCE Metro News talked to acter Alexander Skarsgard (Eric) about coming to Holkywood from Sweden and how he feels about some of his co-stars.
Alexander Skarsgård has a tan. That’s what happens when you’re living in Los Angeles, he explains. He is still looking for an apartment in Venice Beach, where friends from True Blood Stephen Moyer and Anna Paquin, already live. “It is one of the few areas in Los Angeles where you can actually walk around. I’m used to my friends living only a few blocks away and meeting in local bars and I miss that,” says the True Blood star. After having played “the tall blond hunk” in enough movies in Sweden, Skarsgård moved to Hollywood where he landed roles in HBO war drama Generation Kill and vampire-based hit series True Blood. Since the move, he has gone from unemployed to celebrity. And the attention is intense across in California, he said. “You drive everywhere in L.A., so you sit protected in your little bubble of steel. “But after season two of True Blood I noticed quite a big difference. Of course I see that stuff is written about me, but I never read fan sites and blogs. I don’t think it’s good for me,” he said. “If it is negative, I know that it will weigh on me or else you only read the positive stuff and your ego sort of swells up and explodes.” The rumours about Alexander’s love life are rampant, and he’s been linked to co-stars Evan Rachel Wood and Kate Bosworth. “There's not a single young girl that I know in Hollywood that I have not been paired with. “But that’s what happens if I get into a taxi with a girl, suddenly we're married.” So far, he’s convinced fame and fortune have not changed him. “Nothing would hurt me more than if someone told me that I’d changed. But I do not think so. I was still over 30 when things started to happen for me in the U.S.” Alexander Skarsgård on ... • Kate Bosworth, co-star in Straw Dogs: “She is incredibly strong in this film. She really threw herself out there and took a risk. I have lot respect for her, not that many beautiful Hollywood babes would dare to. She is a super smart, cool girl.” • Lady Gaga, co-star in the music video for Paparazzi: “We only worked together for a day. It was mad. She is a bit out there, but she’s also very driven.” • Evan Rachel Wood, co-star on True Blood: “She is really one of her generation’s best actresses, terribly clever. I think she’ll become one of the greatest of her generation.” SOURCE Wanna meet some of the True Blood cast? Well then mark August 6-8th 2010 on your calenders at The Park Inn Northampton! So far the actors that have been confirmed are Sam Trammell and Kristin Bauer. :)
True Blood" is adding two more hunks to the fold for next season.
Up-and-coming actor Theo Alexander and "Ugly Betty" heartthrob Grant Bowler have landed recurring roles on Alan Ball's vampire drama. Alexander will play Talbot, an "intensely beautiful" vampire, the boyfriend of Russell Edgington (Denis O'Hare), the vampire king of Mississippi. Talbot has an acerbic sense of humor and loves to cook despite vampires' inherent lack of cooking talents. Bowler will play Coot, a werewolf, the menacing ringleader of a biker gang. Greece-born Alexander, repped by Global Artists Agency, has several guest shots on his resume -- appearances on "Chuck," "CSI: NY" and "Pushing Daisies" -- and recently booked the feature "Losing Control." New Zealander Bowler has recurred on ABC's "Ugly Betty" as the scheming Wilhelmina (Vanessa Williams) squeeze and current fugitive Connor Owens. Alexander and Bowler join "Prison Break" alum Marshall Allman, who was recently cast as a regular, playing Sam's (Sam Trammell) long-lost younger brother.
