Finally we got some spoilers for Season 4, with Entertainment weekly reporting on some casting news for the new season. I honestly don't recognize the character names so far, so who knows where they're going with things.
"How apropos: It’s six days before Halloween, and I just so happen to have gotten the first casting intel on season 4 of True Blood. Wanna know who — and, in some cases, what — is in store? Read on! * Marnie is a Z-list palm reader who’s painfully aware of what a joke she is — that is, until she comes to be possessed by the spirit of a real witch. Anybody else thinking said sorceress might turn out to be the Hallow character Alan Ball told me about back in August? * Andy’s sister, Portia, is as easy on the eyes as she is sharp in the courtroom. And, since I hear possible portrayers have to be cool with nude scenes, we’re gonna get an eyeful. * Naomi is an Asian-American cage fighter who, outside of the ring…er, cage…is hot-’n'-heavy with one of her female competitors. My hunch is that, driven away by brother Sam, Tommy starts putting up his dukes for money instead of his paws. * Queen Mab is an elegant beauty who presides over a fantasy land that sounds a lot like the fairy domain into which Sookie (Anna Paquin) keeps being pulled. But, ethereal as her highness may be, she’s also got a temper… * Suzanne McKittrick is a Real Housewives type who throws a hootenanny to bond with “her kind.” That “kind,” I’m thinking, being shapeshifters like buttoned-down African-American (and fellow newbie) Emory Broome." SOURCE If you tuned into Spike's 2010 Scream awards then you know Anna Paquin, Alexander Skarsgard and True Blood all won awards! And i have to say i loved Alexander's award speech about how naughty Eric is and yet so lovable.
"True Blood" wins for Stephen Moyer and Anna Paquin Can vampire Bill please magically adopt the adorable haircut that Stephen Moyer was sporting at tonight's Scream Awards? Because I would argue that he (heresy!) even outshone Alexander Skarsgård on the adorable scale. He won his award for that crazy sex scene Bill and Lorena had during season three. You know the one I'm talking about. "I don't know what all the fuss is about, doesn't everyone have sex like that?" he joked. Anna Paquin had a sexy lead-in in the form of Nina Dobrev, Paul Wesley and Ian Somerhalder. "I love our fans so much," Anna said. "'True Blood' is the best job I've ever gotten to work on, and it would be nothing without being able to be supported by the amazing fans we have." Oh, and then the camera cut to ASkars. This is why we love the Scream Awards." SOURCE So there hasn't been much news lately on the fourth Season of True Blood and castings. However, anyone who enjoys Charlaine Harris as a writer you'll be happy to know that there is a possibility of CBS picking up her 'Grave' novels for a series!
"It's only been two months, but boy have we been missing "True Blood." So must the folks over at CBS, because they just greenlit Charlaine Harris' Harper Connelly book series, which will be adapted by Ridley and Tony Scott's production company into a new mystery series called "Grave Sight," Variety reports. We're pretty excited that Charlaine's lesser-known series about a woman struck by lightning who is then able to see the last moments of people's lives, is making its way to the small screen. The big question is whether the show will be as good—or better—than "True Blood." "Grave Sight" has a long way to go before it will be ready for television, but there are a few things that "True Blood" has over it. First is the involvement of creator Alan Ball, whose complex views on death and overall awesomeness lend themselves very well to the HBO series. And then there's the man who leaves us all drooling, Mr. Alexander Skarsgård. Is it too much to ask that he be cast in both series...or in every film and television show ever? One boon "Grave Sight" does boast is some truly twisted source material, maybe even more screwed up than "True Blood"'s. Here's what Publisher's Weekly has to say about the plot of the series' first novel: Harper travels to the Ozark town of Sarne, Ark., to find a missing teenage girl's body, accompanied by her stepbrother, Tolliver, who acts as her manager and bodyguard and with whom she shares a thinly disguised physical attraction that they manage to keep at bay by engaging in casual sex with various partners. Finding the body takes no time at all, but leaving town afterward isn't so easy. When Harper's life is threatened and Tolliver ends up in jail on trumped-up charges, it quickly becomes apparent that something sinister is going on in Sarne. "True Blood" has the benefit of being on HBO and thus being able to go a bit more edgy, but hopefully CBS and the Scotts allow whoever ends up working on this project to go a little crazy with it. If not, "Grave Sight" might be a success but certainly won't be as fun as it could be." SOURCE |
